The apartments are cozy, halls are relatively clean. Can't hear the neighbors too well, which is a plus.
I stayed with Apartment Store for three years, not consecutively. I was there from 2013-2014 for one year, 2015-2017 for two years. Now my family decided to move on due to my increasing family size. I want to give a positive review to them because of their effort in improving their property and helping the tenants get a comfortable stay. Through the past couple of years, I notice a big improvement in their maintenance quality and efficiency with a new staff member Chris on board. He shows up for emergency request pretty much right away and for general request, he would show up in a few days and get the problem fixed in a few minutes. I had problems with the heating system, electrical system, with a plugged sink, and some other minor issues during my stay there, the maintenance team arrive pretty quick and fix the problem in a efficient manner. The front desk agents, Cheryl, and Terri, and some other hired girls, are all very polite, friendly, and very quick in responding your calls and emails. I have noticed they consistently upgrade their properties in different locations, and they hold community events for the tenants on holidays (I rarely attend any due to my busy schedule). They are also very supportive for my family and extremely kind to my baby. I have noticed during the past couple years, there were a few incidents involving police, but I rarely go out after the day gets dark therefore none of these illegal incidents affect me or other legal residents here I suppose. If you are a student looking for an affordable furnished place to stay to focus on your studies, I would recommend Apartment Store for you. If you have a small size family and looking for an unfurnished apartment, I would also recommend Apartment Store. The best way of getting to know their property is to get in touch with the agents and talk to them about your needs. They are very helpful and will advise you on all options you have. Also, this place is within walking distance to the campus. It only took me about 7-10 minutes to walk to my building to take classes and work.
The only times I'm ever there is when I'm called because someone is getting shot, stabbed, over dosing or trying to burn the place down. Oh ya if you wanna get raped I hear that's a good place.
Regarding Essex House, compared to other reviews in the past, I think they have made excellent improvements. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Maintenance service is very efficient. I was also surprised how clean both outside and inside the area is. And as far as the individual apartment, so far it is actually very quiet both during the week and on weekends, so getting some serious studying in is never a problem. Great place to live near campus imo.
