To finish this story we did get the gasket picked up and the leak around the face no longer occurred , but the original leak which we were looking for help with did not just drip, ran at a very steady stream. Now involved my dad a 40 year mechanic which I didn't want bother with his schedule. He discovers the seal was installed wrong and put together with force and broke the seal into pieces. I called again to the store and requested a new seal and a complete refund. I was told he would give a new seal but no refund! I was not settling to pay for a job that was not done and now we have to make another trip to Indiana. Doug did say " Fine, to get you off my back I'll refund your money and replace the seal."
We had a small leak in our pool pump....we were told by Doug this is an easy fix but may get a little tricky if you don't know what your doing so we opted to have the "professional" replace the seal so we would not run into future problems. I made a special trip to pick up the pump that was completed. Get to the check out and one lady says to the other did he tell her about the bolts? The two missing bolts that were stripped out. Doug proceeds to tell me I need to run to Lowe's to pick up two bolts to replace the two he stripped out. He didn't have any I could stop and take care of it.....so an hour with the Lowe's hardware man (who was fantastic!!!) I'm on my way...My husband and I had plans until 9pm so we are hooking all the hoses back to the pump and water sprays everywhere like a fire hose!!!! No the little leak we had prior to it being fixed!!!! So this am I call asking where the missing gasket is....let me tell you the line of bull that was being communicated!!!!! Terrible TERRIBLE customer service.....a working gasket the was on the pump is now missing and I have a non functional pump.....Mr Doug's response I recommend you buy a new pump. No we had a working pump with a small leak! I want my gasket returned! This story doesn't finish after the second :(
I returned to the store and he refunded my money but refused to sell me the seal that was broken during their instillation. Three day lesson learned, parts bought at another store and pump fixed in minutes. The pump that I was told needs replaced works without any problems!
